Cork's RedFM is an Irish radio station which broadcasts to Cork and the surrounding area. Despite this, RedFM is one of the 10 most listened to stations in the country, hia result of the overwhelming popularity of local radio in the Cork area. The station commenced broadcasting on 16 January 2002 and was awarded Ireland's first youth radio licence. Its target market is the 15-35 age group in Cork city and county.
In 2013, Thomas Crosbie Media, who had a 36% share in RedFM went into receivership, and the majority of their assets, including the newspapers Irish Examiner, the Evening Echo, and The Waterford News and Star as well as radio stations Beat 102-103, WLR FM, were purchased by Landmark Media Investments LTD.
On March 1, 2023, the radio station was acquired by Bauer Media Audio, a subsidiary of German media conglomerate Bauer Media.
