Frank Mulrennan

Following completion of his degree from University College Dublin, Frank Mulrennan started his media career with the national broadcaster RTÉ as a presenter and producer in the radio division.
After leaving RTÉ, he worked with the Irish Independent as business editor (1996-2000) and agriculture editor (1987-1995). In 2000 he became Managing Director of local newspaper the Drogheda Independent Group owned by Independent News and Media (now Mediahuis).
He joined Celtic Media in 2005 as Operations Director, appointed by Dunfermline to integrate the various media businesses they had acquired into one business entity. In 2008 he was appointed interim CEO by Lloyds Bank to lead a company restructure. This restructuring led to the management buyout of the company from Dunfermline in 2012, led by Mulrennan.
He is a founding member of the Press Council of Ireland and served as a director from 2008 to 2012. He is also an executive member of Local Ireland, an industry group representing local news outlets in Ireland, and served two terms as President of this organisation.
